I've been tinkering with Android since 2015. The next 4 years I was in college at the University of Arkansas until I graduated in Spring 2020 with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science. I worked at Walmart as a Systems Engineer out of college before transitioning into an Android role. When I haven't been tinkering with Android, it's probably because I was substituting it with Rust.

Tesseract Ventures

November 2023 - Present

• Primary maintainer for an internal physical Access Control Android app, using gRPC and Protocol Buffers to use streaming and request/response communications for app functionality.
• Significantly contributed to tracking our cloud infrastructure by importing our Google Cloud Platform and Azure resources into Terraform to maintain and update dev, QA, and production environments.
• Improved security of our Cloud infrastructure by configuring Virtual Private Networks with sensitive resources to disable public IP Addresses and reducing our attack surface.

Govenda

September 2021 - May 2023

• Configured a hybrid architecture in the Android applications user interface layer, integrating Jet- pack Compose with XML Views to accelerate development through a company-wide redesign while supporting phone and tablet screen sizes.
• Set up Dagger 2 to facilitate a Model-View-ViewModel architecture, enhancing feature development, maintenance, and collaboration for engineers.
• Utilized testing tools such as Robolectric and JUnit to identify regressions, ensuring a stable and reliable application for users.
• Employed Kotlin Coroutines, Flows, and the Repository pattern in the app’s business layer to manage network data and SQLite data, streamlining integration with the user interface.
• Configured a developer-only flavor of the application to improve debugging and development without compromising the user experience and application security.

Walmart

June 2020 - September 2021

• Received a department award for constructing an internal PowerShell module and application that saved the team over 40 hours weekly by automating diagnostics for customer issues.
• Served as a Subject Matter Expert for Payment Card Industry automation projects by submitting project requirements and collaborating with an offshore development team.
• Automated bulk customer ticket processing, saving hours of manual work for the team and myself.
